Morris County S.P.C.A.

LAW ENFORCEMENT DIVISION

Chief's Corner

Welcome to the Morris County S.P.C.A. website. Our Agency has an exceptional staff, consisting of sworn law enforcement men and women who reflect the Morris County S.P.C.A.

Whether answering citizens’ phone calls, greeting people, or completing duties in the field, we are committed to working in partnership with residents of Morris County.

Residents expect us to arrest people who abuse, neglect or are cruel to animals in Morris County and to summons people who violate the Animal Cruelty Laws. As Chief, I expect our officers and agents to enforce the Animal Cruelty Laws as well; and to do so within the guidelines set by the State. This includes completing solid investigations, issuing citations, and making arrests.

Prevention is key to our success. This involves creating “humane education” by addressing the root causes of incident-driven locations in alliance with others.

We pride ourselves in treating people with dignity and respect. This style of our Agency was introduced by Chief, John Goodrich, Jr. It is truly an honor and a privilege to represent the men and women of the Morris County S.P.C.A.

If there is any questions or concerns about our agency or my officers and agents, you can contact me at (973) 625-2670 or email me at josorio@morriscountyspca.org.
